United Methodist Women Day is a day of worship and witness. It starts at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 16!

Celebrating our Legacy with General Conference

The current General Conference is the last one before United Methodist Women turns 150 in 2019. We will celebrate this milestone with the church on May 16, which is #umwday at General Conference in Portland. Thanks to social media and other web technology we can all participate in our own time zones!

United Methodist Women Day starts early on Monday, and remember: These times are Pacific Standard.

Visit the United Methodist Women exhibit at booth 162; while you’re there say Happy Birthday in a photo or video greeting. You can also visit the prayer station, attend a briefing on United Methodist Women legislative agenda at #umcgc (time and place TBD) and make posters for the afternoon public witness on #cleanh2o4all and #right2water.

Rally: Don’t Poison Our Water! Water is a Human Right!

Gather at the Oregon Convention Center Plaza for the public witness event. Remember to take photos and post on social media with hashtags #cleanh2o4all and #right2water.

3:30-4:00 p.m.
Our upcoming 150th anniversary will be celebrated during the plenary at 3:53 p.m. 

Watch online and share the experience on social media. Use the hashtag #umwday so all our posts can be read together.

4:00-4:20 p.m.
Celebration continues in Portland

Members at home can watch the live stream through 6:30 p.m.: Conference business, presentations on Africa University and Higher Education and closing devotion round out the day.

 

Meet and greet United Methodist Women staff and delegates. Light snacks will be served and a group picture taken. Oregon Ballroom, room 203. Visit United Methodist Women booth (162) for location.
