General Conference 2016

The General Conference of The United Methodist Church takes place May 10-20, 2016, in Portland, Oregon. United Methodist Women will be there to ensure faith, hope and love is put into action for women, children and youth around the world.

The General Conference of The United Methodist Church begins in just a few days. United Methodist Women will be there. Tune into this blog for news, updates, recaps and information as the General Conference meets to make decisions on church policy, budgets and beliefs. 

In the meantime, check out our General Conference website and follow us on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. We’ve also put together a special digital issue of response featuring the stories published in 2015-2016 related to United Methodist Women and General Conference. 

Even if you're not in Portland, you can still watch the plenaries via livestream beginning Tuesday, May 10. Be sure to tune in Monday, May 16, at 3:53 (PDT) for a celebration of United Methodist Women’s 150th anniversary from the plenary floor! And at 8 a.m. (PDT) that same day, don't miss the livestream of the consecration of new deaconesses and home missioners from the plenary floor!

In addition to submitting legislation that protects and empowers women, children and youth, United Methodist Women will be also be hosting women’s briefings, a women’s lounge, a youth lounge, an exhibit, a prayer station and an action for clean water at General Conference. 
Please continue your prayers for General Conference and the presence of the Holy Spirit there.
