Women Weaving One World - Alternate
Weaving has been an activity women have engaged in since the loom was invented.
From The Water's Edge
I present to you your new mission team. We lift up this team and their gifts and look forward with hope and love to the way you will live out your gifts in ministry.
Tomorrow is for...
You have made a commitment to United Methodist women, but more importantly--to God!
The Good Shepherd
You are the ones who have answered " yes " to the call to serve as district officers.
Rainbows for Mission
These colorful flowers truly remind us of the rainbow and God's promise. It reminds us too, of the promise Jesus made when he said, "Lo, I am with you always, even unto the ends of the earth." May God's presence be real to you as you serve the Creator well as a part of the leadership of this unit during the coming year and throughout your life.
The Purpose Is Our Key
The organized unit of UNITED METHODIST WOMEN shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Corinthians
by Cathy Smith
I present to you your new mission team. May the Holy Spirit help them to use their gifts to work together.
Hope for a Brighter Future
To you who have elected these women to be your officers, I ask you " Will you also be a light to others as you work as a member of this unit of United Methodist Women, fulfilling the Purpose and supporting your officers? " If you are ready to do this, please answer, " With God's help, I will. "
Fill The World With Love
If there are women here today who are not members, we want you, we need you to join us in our Purpose, in filling the world with love. If there are any men here today, we also need you, your prayers and support as we work together with God.
Being An Officer Is a Community Thing
O God, giver of creative energy, receiver of mission-making, within us and all around us, awaken that spark of divine energy in action. Let our hearts hear the song of transformed lives. Let our eyes see hope again in the walk and talk of free women and men, girls and boys. Let our bodies dance with the visions of love offered in the example of Jesus the Christ.
Circles and Acorns
Let us pray: God, we stand before you, centered in Christ and bearing seeds of strength for new growth. Take our hands, work through them. Take our lips, speak through them. Take our minds, think through them. Take our hearts, set them on fire.
Like A Butterfly
As United Methodist Women officer, it may be that you are like a caterpillar, and need to do some changing.
An Awesome Responsibility
You have an awesome, exciting responsibility before you. Take it with enthusiasm, knowing God is with you.
Women Weaving One World
We each weave our own fabric of faith and life. From the time we are children until we are near the end of our journey, we are creating a pattern or weaving a design. The loom is our life.
Commitment for Leading Together
Read and use an installation service from the 2010 Program Book, "Let's Get Together."
Litany: An Affirmation of Faith
Use this litany as is or as a model to create your own installation service.
Breaking the Bread of Shalom With Women, Children and Youth
We commit ourselves to breaking the bread of healing and wholeness.
United Methodist Women Organized for Mission
We pledge ourselves to renewed discipleship in Christ to expand concepts of mission through the global ministries of the church.
Detroit Conference- Installation Service
O Most Holy One, we come this day with hope, knowing you are with us in all we do through all the seasons of our life.
