A Letter of Thanks to Our Members

In the wake of Assembly 2014, United Methodist Women sent a donation of five pallets of books to Christian Library International (CLI). CLI is a non-profit organization that distributes books to prisons all over the country. The organization provides inspiration for those imprisoned to follow God. This gift of books from the members of United Methodist Women serves as a direct way to reach the imprisoned to glorify God.

We recently received a thank you letter from CLI that we want to share with our members:

Dear United Methodist Women members,

Your gift of 5,000 Christian books just arrived! We thank God for these amazing resources! God says that His Word “will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:11). Thank you for allowing God to work through you in bringing God’s Word to the imprisoned through Christian materials.

We join you in prayer that the resources that God has so faithfully provided through you will be used to save the lost and encourage the saints. We have received letters from inmates saying that some books were read so many times that they literally fell apart. May all our books fall apart from much use… and produce much fruit!

In Jesus’ Name,

Kathleen Skaar
Executive Director
Christian Library International

Your gift is being used to reach the imprisoned to glorify God:

“CLI was my inspiration to follow my Lord Jesus. I will never forget the love your volunteers have shown me and all that you do there. Through my testimony at this new jail, 18 people have received the Lord Jesus as their personal savior.”
