Nuclear technology has been stated by some to be an energy solution to the climate crisis. But many scientists, Indigenous and environmental justice community leaders and policy experts have noted that nuclear energy poses environmental, environmental justice, intergenerational, economic, and climate challenges. Further, the “Nuclear Safety in the United States” Resolution of the United Methodist Church states, “Nuclear technology presents a special challenge to our call to be stewards of God's creation (Psalm 8:6-8) because of the risks involved in the production, handling, and disposal of long-lived nuclear byproducts (such as plutonium) in the energy and weapons-production cycles.”

Join us for this webinar to learn from environmental justice, scientific, and policy experts who will present their concerns around nuclear energy as a just energy solution.
