Faith Talks: The Global Media Monitoring Project

Dr. Glory Dharmaraj

The next United Methodist Women Faith Talks event will be on the upcoming Global Media Monitoring Project, which is a campaign of the World Association of Christian Communication. The featured guest for the talk is Dr. Glory Dharmaraj, president of the World Association for Christian Communication (North America) and a retired director of mission theology. She has directed the organization’s participation in the media monitoring project since 2000, and will share her theological perspective on the importance of analyzing portrayals of women in the media.

Why monitor the media? Media monitoring is an important tool for change, and the aim of Global Media Monitoring Project is to support accountability in the media and advocate for honest representations of women. This is in line with United Methodist Women’s commitment to serve women, girls and families.

The talk will be held on Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m. ET via Zoom Video Conference. To participate in the call, register here:
