Lou and Mary Henson visited to Cunningham in 2007. Lou, Illinois' winningest basketball coach, took a look at the gym and said, "No child should have to play sports in this facility." A new education and recreation center will be completed in the fall of 2018 thanks to the Hensons' vision and persistence.
