United Methodist Women from as far away as Monrovia, Liberia, spent the day in West Louisville for an Ubuntu Day of Service. While some painted classrooms, others took time to read to children and serve as “foster grannies” for a day.

More than 600 members and friends got acquainted with neighbors in Louisville, Ky., at almost 40 sites. Participants gardened, sorted, served, landscaped, cleaned, painted and organized, and most important, they learned about the local community.
