United Methodist Women welcomes Ashley Johnson as the new Inelda Gonzalez Domestic Violence Intern. Ashley will be working primarily to promote resources, training and advocacy opportunities and to connect United Methodist Women for action. 
 
Ms. Johnson currently resides in Miami with her husband. She has a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. She has been a United Methodist Women unit president and coordinated the social media program for her church. In 2011, she was part of the Ubuntu Journey in Brazil focusing on human trafficking and domestic violence. Ms. Johnson will be attending the United Methodist Women’s Assembly in Louisville in April. 
 
The Inelda Gonzalez Domestic Violence Internship is an opportunity for programmatic and educational emphasis on domestic violence, and is given in recognition of the service of Inelda Gonzalez, the Women’s Division President between 2008-2012.
