United Methodist Women Honored at GameChanger Awards

We are thrilled to announce that United Methodist Women will receive a GameChanger's Community Partner Award from Family Values@Work for our Paid Family and Medical Leave campaign, part of the Living Wage for All campaign. This is in recognition of all of our members' and friends' efforts to pass federal Family and Medical Leave legislation.

We invite you to attend the Family Values@Work GameChanger Award ceremony on Thursday, December 3, at 2 p.m. EST. It is a free, virtual event.

United Methodist Women General Secretary Harriett Jane Olson will accept the award on behalf of United Methodist Women members and share a recorded message with attendees.

We thank you

Thank you for the hundreds of letters and postcards you sent to Congress urging elected officials to support the FAMILY Act. Because of your efforts there are now 215 House sponsors and 37 Senate sponsors of the bi-partisan FAMILY Act. The bill will be re-introduced in 2021 in the new Congress. Meanwhile, you can sign a Family Values@Work petition inviting the new Congress to support the bill, here

Thank you for action tables at 2019 Mission u events educating members and motivating them to take action!

Thank you to all those who contacted Congress during the COVID-19 pandemic calling for Paid Family and Medical Leave for all workers during the pandemic and permanently!

Thank you for hosting Zero Weeks documentary screenings. Did you get a chance to host one yet? Contact Alexis Jackson at info@familyvaluesatwork.org to plan a virtual screening.

While our Living Wage Campaign wraps up at the end of 2020, you can continue to be active in advocating for Paid Family and Medical Leave by reaching out to Family Values@Work. They will provide educational resources and opportunities for advocacy in the year ahead.

The United Methodist Women’s GameChanger Award honors your ongoing efforts to assure that people do not have to choose between a paycheck and caring for themselves or their loved ones. Once again, thank you!
