United Methodist Women Welcomes Action by JFON

National Justice for Our Neighbors and the Entire Justice for Our Neighbors Network Urge the Supreme Court to Allow the Expanded DACA and DAPA Programs to Move Forward

United Methodist Women Welcomes Action by JFON

United Methodist Women welcomes action by Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) in submitting an Amicus Curiae Brief to the United States Supreme Court, urging the court to uphold President Obama's expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) programs.

This would be a temporary but much needed program to address concerns of family unity for thousands of immigrant families. United Methodist Women actively supports JFON, a program which provides church-based legal assistance for immigrants, particularly women and children.

United Methodist Women members are involved on JFON boards, as volunteers and as donors. In 2014, United Methodist Women provided a grant to JFON for legal aid to women and children, including Central American refugees fleeing violence. We value our partnership with JFON and welcome this action on behalf of immigrant families.
