Contact your senators and representative urging them to sign on to the FAMILY Act!

Thank you for taking action for paid family and medical leave!  Please contact your senators and representative urging them to sign on to the FAMILY Act!

The easiest way to do this is to go online here. An e-mail letter will automatically be sent to your senators and representative and you will get an e-mail confirmation for each. If you are planning a United Methodist Women gathering you can invite members to go to this link on their cell phones and take action in minutes! The added benefit is that United Methodist Women national office can then keep you up to date on the bill and ways to take further action.

If you prefer to send a letter or postcard to your legislators you can download the letter or postcard in the right column. Feel free to make multiple copies so that everyone in your circle or unit can take action.

On the letter be sure to include the date, your name and address.  You can also add how this situation has impacted you.

On the postcard there is space to tell your own story. Remember to include your name and address.

To find out your senators and their addresses, click here.

To find out your representative and their address, click here.

We would really love to stay in touch!  If you would like to continue to get information about the Paid Family and Medical Leave for All campaign and the status of the bills, as well as how to get a copy of the Zero Weeks video, please visit our sign-up page.

We would like to be able to share a tally of how many members have contacted their elected officials.  If you circulate letters or postcards at a group event, you could either send copies or a digital scan of the letters or cards to the UMW national office, or send an e-mail with the number of people who participated. If we get copies, we can follow up with anyone who has sent a postcard or letter.

Please mail copies to:
Carol Barton
United Methodist Women National Office
475 Riverside Drive, 15th floor
New York, NY 10115
Or send e-mails to:  cbarton@unitedmethodistwomen.org

Thanks again for taking action so that everyone can have paid family and medical leave!
