Mission U 2019:

Requirements For Recertification – Issue Study

What About Our Money? A Faith Response

Mission u establishes recertification requirements for second-year study leaders to help them prepare to lead this study. Because second-year study leaders have already attended training the prior year, they will re-certify by completing the reading requirements and the recertification online course. Attendance at onsite Mission u training will not be needed and will not be offered onsite at either of the two Mission u Leader Training events for this particular study.

RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Complete Reading Requirements and the Online Reading Checklist:
  • A. Practicing Resurrection: The Gospel of Mark and Radical Discipleship by Janet Wolf. This is the 2019 spiritual growth mission study text which has a chapter related to sabbath economics.
  • B. United We Are a Force by Joerg Rieger & Rosemary Henkel-Rieger, ChalicePress, 2016.
  • C.  Second Year Supplement to What About Our Money? A Faith Response. The Supplement will be available for download in the winter quarter.

Online Reading Checklist: Indicate the completion of the reading requirements above through the online reading checklist: https://umwomen.wufoo.com/forms/z15qmg3814tm5r4

2. Complete the Recertification Online Course: The course is targeted to launch in mid-March 2019. You will be sent a link to register for the online course in January 2019.

AVAILABILITY OF THE MISSION STUDY TEXTS: Practicing Resurrection is now available at http://bit.ly/MarkStudies. The money study is available at http://bit.ly/MoneyStudies. The Supplement will be available for download around February 2019.

HOW TO OBTAIN RESOURCES

Order your mission study texts and download the Supplement from the United Methodist Women e-Store: www.umwmissionresources.org (1-800-305-9857).

Internet search: A quick way to locate a book for purchase is to enter the title of the book in an internet search and locations where you can purchase the book will appear. Amazon.com often lists used copies of the title and alternative formats such as kindle and can be significantly cheaper than a new copy.
